The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), The American Dental Association (ADA), and The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a “Dental Home” for your child by one year of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.
Prior to their appointment, tell your child that the dentist is a friendly doctor who will help their teeth stay healthy. Talk about the visit in a positive, age-appropriate way, as you would about any new experience. Avoid projecting any negative feelings you may have regarding a dental visit, being careful to avoid negative words. A visit to our office can be a very pleasant adventure for both you and your child.
At PedZ Dental, we recognize that all children are unique and have individual sensitivities. We have specialized training in helping children with special healthcare needs feel comfortable and safe. By meeting each child where they are able, we strive to provide gentle, calm, compassionate care to them and establish a relationship of trust. Your child’s trust in us is our highest priority!
If your child is very apprehensive, we may skip certain aspects of an appointment. Or, if sedation is needed, we’ll work with you on making the best decision for your child. Pleasant visits and encouraging words from our team (as well as from caregivers) help a child establish trust and confidence that will last a lifetime.
Finally, as pediatric dental specialists, we will always have your child’s best interest at heart. We will never stop in our pursuit of providing a fun and comfortable environment and treating your child as if they were our own.
We believe that every child should have the opportunity to quality dental care. For this reason, we have several financing options in place at PedZ Dental. We accept many insurance plans including Aetna, Cigna, Delta, MetLife PDP Plus, Superior, and many more. Please contact our office with questions about specific insurance plans. We also have a convenient payment plan through CareCredit.
Our office does our best to provide you with an estimate of insurance coverage for your child’s dental appointment. In order to provide this estimate, we request that you provide us with your insurance information prior to your child’s appointment. Insurance companies and individual plans vary greatly, and we cannot obtain accurate information if not provided ahead of time.
Unfortunately, we are not in-network with state and federally funded insurance. However, we are accepting of all patients, provide exceptional care and amazing experiences to all our patients
While we may be considered “In-Network” with some dental insurance companies we strongly encourage you to be familiar with your dental insurance policy. Please contact your dental insurance carrier and verify whether our office is “In-Network” or “Out of Network” with your plan. It is important to note that there are many exclusions involved with insurance policies and we are not able to guarantee benefits. We require all deductibles and co-pays to be paid at the time of service. Any balance is your responsibility regardless of whether or not your insurance company pays for your claim. We must have the correct/updated insurance information on file in order for us to bill your insurance company. We are a 3rd party to the contract. It’s ultimately your responsibility to know and understand your dental insurance, including but not limited to Co-pays, Coverages, Maximums, Deductibles, and Frequencies. If your insurance company has not paid your account within 60 days, the balance becomes your responsibility. We will diagnose and recommend services based on what is in the patient’s best dental interest. Please be aware that some and perhaps all of the services provided may be non-covered services and not considered reasonable or necessary by your insurance company.
